OUR EVENING SPEAKER - 2nd - 6th July

Craig Dyer

Associate Pastor Harper Church Glasgow and Director of Training for Christianity Explored
Craig Dyer graduated from the Irish Baptist College in Belfast in 1989 and became Pastor for Bellshill Baptist Church in North Lanarkshire, ten miles south east of Glasgow.

He subsequently became Pastor at Harper Church south of the Clyde in the Govan area of Glasgow. The church was founded in 1897 as Paisley Road Baptist Church but then renamed Harper Memorial Baptist Church in 1921 after John Harper a street preacher and the original pastor, who died as a passenger on the Titanic. The church, where Craig now serves as Associate Pastor, is part of the West of Scotland Gospel Partnership and affiliated to the FIEC.

It was during his thirteen years pastoring at Harper Church in Glasgow that Craig’s involvement in “Christianity Explored” deepened, leading to his present role as Training Director.

His role is to provide evangelism training for churches around the world by developing a network of qualified trainers. He summarises his life's work as "Equipping hundreds to train thousands to rescue millions".

Craig and his wife Margaret have three daughters, Claire, Jennifer and Gillian. At home he has been known to go for a run and have the occasional rattle on the drums.

We look forward very much to hearing him speak at our five main evening convention presentations where he will speak from the book of 1 Peter under the banner heading “How to be Surprisingly Unsurprised”  More details on the “Topics & Timetables” page.

Daf Meirion-Jones

Senior Pastor
The Kings Centre - Chessington Evangelical Church

Daf Meirion-Jones is currently Senior Pastor of Chessington Evangelical Church (CEC) which is a large modern church in Surrey which own and run a community centre (The King’s Centre) as a way to serve the local area. In November 2015 they saw their vision for growth take a first step when they planted the Emmanuel Church in nearby Epsom.

He was previously a vicar at All Saints Anglican/Evangelical church in Preston Lancashire and a leading figure in the North West Gospel Partnership.  So Daf is one of a handful of Anglican ministers coming into Independent ministry.

He became a Christian at university and after teaching geography for six years trained to become a Pastor. He loves telling people about Jesus and helping others to do so as well. Despite his obviously Welsh sounding name Daf and his wife had in fact both originated from and had family roots in Surrey with Daf having grown up in Guildford.

Married to Boo they have 7 children which is why he says they’re perpetually tired. He tells us  that he enjoys eating more than jogging which means that his desire to be the next Jason Bourne is unlikely to be realised!

We look forward very much to welcoming him to the 2018 Bournemouth & Poole Convention where he will speak on three mornings at Westbourne from the book of Zephaniah under the heading "The Lord Who Loves to Save".  More details on the “Topics & Timetables” page.
